Jane
Dr Jane Mowll holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and
a PhD in Social Work.
With over 30 years’ experience, Jane works with people navigating grief, loss, and traumatic bereavement.
Throughout her career Jane has specialised in providing evidence-based therapy and support to individuals and families experiencing the aftermath of the death of a family member or friend reported to the coroner.
Jane’s approach enables her to build trusting therapeutic relationship with those seeking support through the isolating and debilitating impacts of trauma, loss and grief. Jane is also an experienced supervisor and is available for clinical supervision.
Jane’s extensive clinical practice includes 16 years in the Forensic and Coronial systems in NSW. Jane is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and works with you to support your unique strengths and capacities.
Jane has advanced training and practice in evidence-supported therapeutic frameworks including Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), systemic, narrative and constructionist (meaning making) approaches.
Jane centres warmth and care in the therapeutic relationship and works collaboratively with you to meet your individual needs and goals.
Jane is also an experienced academic who also supervises and teaches in Social Work and counselling. Jane holds a PhD from the University of NSW and her research explores the meanings and experiences of bereaved family members and friends in the wake of grief or loss.
Services
Jane is available for in person counselling regarding grief and loss. Jane has many years of experience in supporting people after a sudden, unexpected or traumatic death of a family member or friend, including for example in the wake of a life changing loss or bereavement.

$220 for a standard 50 minute session

$280 for an extended 90 minute session (required for EMDR)

A Medicare rebate of $85.20 is available with an eligible GP referral.
